How to create the highest level of wellbeing

We can choose our mood

I was speaking to one of the premier psychologists in our country once. This woman is known in the field of emerging psychology that is called positive psychology.

Positive psychology is the study of how we can hold our mind, our heart and our behavior in a way that actually produces the highest levels of wellbeing and the deepest levels of satisfaction. One of the insights they’ve gained is that on a daily basis you and I can choose what mood we want to be in wherever we go.

We can choose our mood! Some of us are subject to the moods of the moment, the moods of the weather, and the moods of other people's opinion. But what they discovered is that people who live in the deepest levels of personal satisfaction and the highest levels of wellbeing choose their own moods.

Choosing our mood is an exercise just like exercising a muscle. So I invite us in this moment to choose what mood we want to generate today. Is it the mood of joy, the mood of support, the mood of forgiveness, the mood of compassion?

What would be the mood that you choose to generate today? What would you like to be contagious to every person that you meet? Let us practice exercising our choice of mood and attitude. Let’s generate a positive mood, broadcast that and notice what happens in our own energy of wellbeing and personal satisfaction. And tomorrow we can choose again.

Many Blessings,
Mary
