How to gain perspective

Go broader and deeper to discover the gift in your situation

When you and I are standing on the ground looking at the conditions of our lives, we see one perspective. But, if we go up in a tall building and look at the same scenery, we see a whole different perspective. And, when we go up in an airplane, we even see more. You and I can bring different perspectives to whatever condition, whatever situation, whatever dream is present in our lives right now. 

So let’s practice today not just seeing things from one up close viewpoint. That will only show us how it appears on the surface. Let’s go broader, higher, wider, and even deeper and ask each one of those expanded perspectives to share its viewpoint with us. From these we will get a much bigger viewpoint and much stronger vision. Then we can discover the gift that is in the situation we’re facing today. So today we are practicing a wider, broader perspective, seeing with the eyes of God.
