How to magnify the good
Have you ever thought about the difference between the state called being glad and the state called being grateful? You know glad is a really happy feeling. Glad is just a sense of appreciation about something that is. But grateful is a much higher vibration, a much deeper resonance. So let us practice this week moving into gratitude. In the Bible, Paul from a dank, dark prison, one of the most deplorable conditions that could possibly be, he writes this sentence, he says, “I have learned this one thing, that whatever condition I am in, therein to be grateful.” He didn’t say to be grateful for the condition; he just said that in whatever condition we are, let us therefore be grateful. For the gratitude magnifies the Lord. It magnifies the good. It magnifies our open mindedness and our deep heartedness. It magnifies the day. So let us this day move from whatever state we’re in, even if it’s glad, and go deeper. Gratitude.
